“We don’t make a photograph just with a camera, we bring to the act of photography all the books we have read, the movies we have seen, the music we have heard, the people we have loved.” Ansel Adams

About Commercial Photography Services

Photography services include commercial photography, primarily architectural with some portraiture, for businesses all over Illinois and the US. Originally operating as Holly Baumann Photography (HBP), this service line grew organically from a love of travel photography beginning in 2008, before Holly became an Ambuehl. HBP moved under this LLC in 2017. Commercial projects, including architecture and portrait, are estimated with no obligation upon request, and are based on various considerations including time required on-location and in post-production, usage, level of difficulty, scope, type, number of images required, and other factors, including but not limited to expenses and sales tax. Total cost varies widely based on the specific nature of each project; all projects are negotiable based on each client’s budget and goals. (Work for Hire and copyright transfer arrangements are not available.) Event coverage is provided for a flat rate plus expenses. Nonprofit organizations and repeat clients always receive a credit towards their project total. Family Portraits

Quality portraiture will become a priceless family heirloom

We offer three simple packages for on-location family and individual portraits, and digital image and printing rights are always part of the equation. Proofs are generally available to all clients within 48 hours of your session, and may be viewed online for 30 days. Session fees are non-refundable, but may be applied towards a future date if rescheduling is necessary due to weather or other conflicts beyond the photographer’s control. Detailed print pricing is available upon request prior to your session. Return customers are always thanked with automatically reduced rates.

Fine portraits become heirlooms – if they’re preserved. Your priceless family portraits should be displayed and enjoyed for many years. In a few decades (or less), cloud-based and digital technology will surely be obsolete, but the printed photo will always be relevant and replicable. Thus, while optional, I encourage all clients to make the wise investment in printed products from their online gallery, as well. Products ordered from your online gallery ship directly to you from the highest quality printer available, and are fully guaranteed and refundable if dissatisfied. Prints made elsewhere cannot be guaranteed, as many popular, low-cost printers today use printers with fewer ink colors, no color correction, and lower-quality paper and finish.

Family Sessions and Photo Packages

The portrait packages below include the photographer’s time and expertise in shooting and processing; pre-consultation as needed; time on-location; up to 5 people (add $15 to any package for each additional person); 30-day online gallery; and retouched images with print release as noted (add a la carte files for $25/each to any package).

  • STANDARD:  $350 – 5 retouched files with print release for 1 user, 1 clothing change, 30 minutes at 1 location
  • CHOICE:  $650 – 10 digital files from your session with print release for 1 user, 2 clothing changes, 1 hour at 1 location
  • UNLIMITED:  $1,000 – All digital files from your session with print release, 2 clothing changes, up to 4 hours on location, unlimited usage (permits multiple people to use images without restrictions)

About the Photographer

Holly Ambuehl is a Bloomington – Normal (“BloNo”), IL based photographer specializing in architecture and portrait photography, shooting professionally since 2008. I’ve traveled with my camera to almost every state, plus 23 countries on 4 continents, where I’ve done a fair share of camping, hiking, and climbing. I’ve followed a unique career path, also working as a social worker, advocate, analyst, lobbyist, and policy advisor in several states. I use the skills developed in this diverse background every day in my photography business. I like to think that my compassionate eye and love of life shines through in my photographs. My clients receive my full energy on every project, and usually become friends. Working on location is fun; exceeding expectations is the goal. Service as a photographer is an honor, and it comes from the heart.
